Employee pulse: running anonymous daily mood check-ins
A one-tap mood check at the staff exit shows how teams are really doing, without survey fatigue.

Annual engagement surveys are long, slow and often not trusted. A daily pulse is the opposite: one question, one tap, every day.
How it works
Put a smiley kiosk at the staff exit or share a link in your team chat, with one question: "How was your workday?" Offer quick reasons such as Workload, Manager support, Tools and equipment, Team, Commute, Recognition.
Make it truly anonymous
People only answer honestly if they trust it:
- no names, staff numbers or logins
- IP addresses switched off for employee workspaces
- results shown only for groups large enough that nobody can be singled out
What to watch
- Trend, not single days. Everyone has bad days; a falling week is the signal.
- Reasons. A rise in "Workload" before a deadline is expected. A steady rise in "Manager support" is not.
- Sites and teams. Compare locations to see where support is needed.
Act and tell people
Share a short monthly summary with staff: what you heard, and one thing that is changing. Nothing kills a pulse faster than silence.
